Removal of over 5,500 Legacy Desk Phones

As part of their ongoing programme to create a ‘modern workplace’, we have been contracted to provide telecom removal services entailing the removal of Legacy desk phones from the main Central administration buildings. To date, over 5500 desk phones have been removed from 6 of the main sites in the city and are scheduled for recycling.

This will not only enable a more ‘agile’ working environment for many of its staff, but will future-proof their communications and maintain business continuity. These legacy telephones are to be replaced with either mobile devices, or IP communicators where required allowing both internal & external city-wide communications for valuable social services.

Working alongside the telephony & infrastructure teams, this contract presents significant challenges but will enable BCC to make savings on line rentals and running costs whilst facilitating a hybrid workforce.
